Wire/flux combinations for Submerged Arc welding
Selection Criteria

Single-pass welding

Applications: circular and longitudinal welding of gas cylinders,
water heater or fire extinguisher bodies, tanks, downhand welding.

Thicknesses: between 2 and 5 mm on steel grades E24 to E355.

Recommended wire/flux combinations:
AS 26/AS 55
, AS 26/AS 50, AS 26/AS 231, AS 35/AS 450
AS 70S/AS 450
.

Two-pass welding

Applications: large pressure vessels, tube, structural steelwork, shipbuilding, circular and longitudinal welds of large storage tanks, boiler vessel, butt-welding of panels.

Thicknesses: between 5 and 20 mm on steel grades E-28-4 to E355 FP.

Recommended wire/flux combinations:

Rm >= 410 N/mm²
Mn <= 1%
Rm >= 470 N/mm²
