Wire/flux combinations for Submerged Arc welding
Selection Criteria
Single-pass welding
Applications:
circular and longitudinal welding of gas cylinders,
water heater or fire extinguisher bodies, tanks, downhand welding.
Thicknesses: between 2 and 5 mm on steel grades E24 to E355.
Recommended wire/flux combinations:
AS
26/AS 55, AS
26/AS 50, AS
26/AS 231, AS
35/AS 450,
AS 70S/AS 450.
Two-pass welding
Applications: large pressure vessels, tube, structural steelwork, shipbuilding, circular and longitudinal welds of large storage tanks, boiler vessel, butt-welding of panels.
Thicknesses:
between 5 and 20 mm on steel grades E-28-4 to E355 FP.
Recommended wire/flux combinations:
