Supex welds on PRODUCTOR X 15

PRODUCTOR X 15, the new welding robot, has won over the company Supex. Specialising in the manufacture of parts by cutting and stamping, in 2003 Supex won an automotive subcontracting deal requiring special welding operations. Given the quantity of parts and their geometry, the robotic solution was proposed.

Following tests, Supex opted for PRODUCTOR X 15. Jean-Michel Carpentier, technical manager of SAF's North and Normandy agency, explains: "The installation is a five-axis robot with a STARMATIC R 450 (MIG generator). Equipped with a very easy-to-use console, it is perfectly suited to repetitive part welding. In this case it is specially fitted with a part turning tool allowing welding on both sides."

Acquired with all the associated services (training, maintenance, technical support), the robot meets the required quality and productivity objectives. "In addition to the technical performance, the customer was won over by the support services, adds Philippe Jaille, SAF head of sector. Our services have given him the assurance he needs. An ALLIANCE contract, based on scheduled visits, guarantees maintenance of the installation and with the STARTER contract the customer received three days' support for production build-up in July."
