The HPC DIGITAL PROCESS revolutionises cutting

More than upgrading - this is a revolution.

In July 2003 the company Stivent* acquired a PLASMATOME HP cutting machine fitted with a new automated control system: the HPC DIGITAL PROCESS.

Régis Augeraud, head of cutting products at SAF, explains "The machine used to be equipped with a numeric control section for movements and an independent cycle for process management. With HPC DIGITAL PROCESS, we have combined movement management with the associated process via a highly user-friendly man/machine interface."

For each type of material, the system proposes one or more solutions which can be stored for use by any operator. "Another innovation: personalised process management can be attached to a programme, enabling the customer to integrate his expertise".

Gains in time, quality and productivity. "Just two or three clicks and the operator has carried out the cut, adds Patrick Nattier, technical manager of SAF's Western Region agency. "Wanting to increase its productivity, Stivent found these advantages persuasive. We delivered the company a PLASMATOME HPC with two variants: two cutting work sites and a cutting beam extending 1 m beyond the machine bed." This installation, implementing research carried out by CTAS** and SAFMATIC*** teams, has one final advantage: control of the entire cutting process is managed through a single support contact. Another instance of SAF giving its customers an optimal result.
