On the
Pluvigner (Hill-Rom company) site, the production line of AVANTGUARD
hospital beds is fitted with a state-of-the-art fume extraction system.

Yves
Jochaud, head of sector for SAF, explains: "the
company wanted a production line reflecting its product: innovative and
clean. The SAF solution was
chosen".
This
includes a high-pressure network with welding fume capture by blow-off
pipes and a low pressure network with extraction panels to capture
residual fumes.
"The
system is highly technical, stresses
Marc Dubos, head of marketing for the AZUR range. In
addition to guaranteed extraction efficiency and compliance with atmospheric
discharge levels, it integrates ergonomic needs - the blow-off pipes and
panels have been designed to specific geometry - and can be extended to
keep pace with development of the line.
In this way, the high-pressure power unit with a capacity of 4000
m3/h for 15 welders can be enlarged to 30 welders.
For the extraction panels, the network allows an extraction
capacity of 16000 m3/h with a possible extension to 32000m3/h".
The
technical approach, advice and products have been decisive strengths.
Yves Jochaud explains: "we
have worked in close collaboration with CMB*, the local SAF distributor,
to adapt our equipment to the customer's expectations. The result: Hill-Rom is satisfied and is currently consulting
us for other extraction networks".
